Diversification Strategy in Resource Based View

Abstract

The author performs in this doctoral thesis a comprehensive review of issues diversification as growth strategy to outlining its general form, essence and assumptions. The author looks into in the idea of diversification from the perspective of different schools of strategic management (Planning, Positioning, RBV), with an emphasis on RBV. The main scientific objective of the thesis is to identify the identity of the diversification strategy in Resource Based View, in particular, its structure and conditions. Based on literature review and self-observation of business, author presents the concept of diversification strategy in Resource Based View. in the form of research model. The model integrates the most important theoretical assumptions about diversification strategy both from the perspective of school resources and other strategic management schools. The model consists of three stages (formulation, preparation and implementation, and evaluation of effectiveness of the strategy of diversification) and feedback. The practical usefulness of the model was verified by carrying out 3 extensive case studies (LPP, CCC, Colian Holding)
