Leading people in the telework conditions

Piotr Stanisław Chłopek

Abstract

Author tries to answer questions about the sense of creation work places based on telework. How to select people in telework conditions, or if team leaders working from a distance should have other characteristics comparing to “traditional” leaders? How to communicate and build trust, relations based on friendship? Is there such a thing as loyalty in telework? The search for answers to these questions, observations and numerous conversations with business practices made helped to formulate the main objective of the work. It is the identification of key success factors in managing people from a distance and to build a model of managerial actions in telework. In formulating the main aim it was hypothesized that telework requires a specific approach in the process of managing people, and also the statement about effectiveness was formulated: “management in a telework conditions is a process requiring a multilateral trust and partnership relations between the participants of the working process”. The hypothesis was verified by choosing research methods allowing completely, easy (without huge mistakes, not having many assumptions) to collect, aggregate, and in a clear way provide desired information. The dissertation consists of four chapters.
