The impact of eco-innovation on sustainable development of the Lubuskie region

Abstract

The thesis undertakes the issue of the impact of eco-innovation in enterprises, determined by the implementation of pro-ecological systems of voluntary obligations, on the sustainable development of the Lubuskie region. Among others, the thesis presents the results of questionnaire research conducted in enterprises from the Lubuskie region which have implemented pro-ecological systems of voluntary obligations in the form of: ISO 14001, Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS), Clean Production (CP) or Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), located in the context of the analysis of the indexes of sustainable development of the Lubuskie region (in the social, economic, environmental and spatial spheres) obtained from public statistics and statistical data made available by the Office of the Marshall of the Lubuskie province. The analysis covered the years 2006-2010. The research results allowed for the formulation of specific recommendations concerning predictions related to sustainable development in the forthcoming years, in particular in the aspect of the development of regional financial instruments supporting the implementation and improvement of the pro-ecological systems of voluntary obligations as well as their popularization in the sector of enterprises from the Lubuskie region.
