Logistic decisions in the management of cultural heritage at the strategic level of functioning of museum
AbstractThe aim of the paper is to identify and establish the role of logistic activities and actions at the strategic level of functioning of museum and other institutions which manage of cultural heritage objects. The first part contains a general outline of the term cultural heritage and the management of its resources. Then, the possible relations which may take place between widely understood logistic aspects and the processes of strategic management of cultural heritage within selected cultural institutions (museums, open-air museum, etc.) are presented. The final part of the paper includes the overview of strategic plans and documents in selected museums, in order to identify in their content any logistic activities and projects and, thus, to point out their strategic importance for the operation of such an institution in some cases.
