This article concerns the range of Internet technologies in the service process. The author discusses the changes in the form of contact between the client and the company, which occurred as a result of the development of electronic means for the sale of services, customer service "at a distance" and the development of communication tools on the Internet. Analysis of the available secondary research results used to determine the state of "balance of power" between service providers and service users as a result of the development of self-service and restrictions of personal contacts with service providers in the service process.
