Monitoring of reverse logistics based on official statistics databases

Abstract

Environmental degradation and financial losses caused by increasing amount of waste resulted in changes in the approach to waste which comes to be treated as the source of savings and profits. Reverse logistics which is an important tool ensuring planned and effective flow of waste, both municipal and industrial ones, is reaching towards the processes of proper waste management. The increase in the amount of returned products which may be reused was recorded. Thence, the available official statistics databases may be used for comparative analyses by reverse logistics in Poland for the selected territorial units and business entities. The purpose of this article is to analyse the content of the information describing reverse logistics in selected official statistics databases.
