Abstract

The organization of sport mega-events increasingly involves local development goals and forces planning activities that allow getting lasting effects. The purpose of this article is to present the possibilities and scope of activities related to the organization of a mega sportevent, which results in the creation of a common good. We attempt to identify factors that influence the possibilities of creating common goods (during the organization of a sport-event) and contribute to their sustainability. The basis for the performance of these purposes is the case study of The World Games 2017 based on desk research and qualitative research. We use the content analysis of available documents, reports and materials related to the organization of the mega-event, and the study in the form of two in-depth interviews with members of the organizing committee responsible for CSR and communication.
