The application of selected multivariate statistical methods for the evaluation of tourism competitiveness of the Sudety communes
Piotr Gryszel , Marek Walesiak
AbstractThe level of tourism destination competitiveness, due to its relatively complex nature, represents a problematic research area. It is difficult to illustrate by means of a single meaningful and credible indicator and thus measures based on a number of variables have to be applied. Therefore, tourism destination competitiveness is very often presented in a theoretical perspective. Empirical applications are encountered much less frequently, especially at a micro level. The purpose of the article is to fill the existing gap by means of linear ordering and the application of cluster analysis methods in order to evaluate the competitiveness of tourism of the Sudety communes.
